In order to reduce pressure on our phone system we now ask you to order your repeat prescriptions by either:
If you use Boots or the Co-op chemist to dispense your repeat prescriptions you may like to join the collection service. To take advantage of this service simply ask at reception or Boots/Co-op for a form to complete and sign. Once this has been done the form may be returned either to us or the chemist of your choice. The next time you re-order place your order as above, but please allow three working days, and the repeat prescription will be collected from us by Boots or the Co-op. The medication is then collected direct from the chemist.
DISPENSARY
Dispensary Hours
The dispensary department is available to our patients from 8.30 am – 6.30 pm Monday to Friday. The dispensary is also open every other Saturday morning when the surgery is open for duty. Availability is from 8.30 am – 11.45 am.
Dispensary Team
There are four members of our team that our qualified to work within the dispensary department. Sue Butterworth is our Dispensary Manager; she works along with Pauline, Karen, Nicky and Alan. The all carry the relevant qualifications required to work within a surgery dispensary.
Dispensing for Patients
We are only able to dispense for patients who live more than 1 mile away from a chemist. This is not a rule set by ourselves, but by the agency who govern what is carried out by any dispensing organisation.
Dossett Boxes
Karen is the member of the team who is responsible for refilling the dossett boxes for our patients who require them. This is decided by the relevant doctor as to whether this service is applicable to any of our patients.
Re-ordering of Prescriptions
Our patients have the ability to order a prescription at any time they chose. They have four options available to them:
Chemist Prescriptions
We are not able to dispense for any of our local patients who live in Chipping Norton.
However, we are able to offer a collection service which ensures that once your prescription has been authorised and signed by a doctor it will be collected by your chosen chemist in Chipping Norton and dispensed ready for collection. If you would like this to happen then please ask for further information from the surgery. If you wish to collect your prescription from the surgery then you need to come in and collect it from reception, after leaving it a full 2 working days.
Delivery Service to Long Compton
We now provide a delivery service for patients who are over 60 years and living in Long Compton. This service takes place on a Thursday morning every week. The medication is delivered to Long Compton Village Store for patients to collect from the store. If you are interested in this service, please phone the surgery and ask to speak to a dispenser.
